on 06/16/03 Painting vinyl: I just used the DuPont Chromabase that I used on the body of my car with no clearcoat. No more, no less, no flex agent. Just clean the vinyl real well and wipe down with enamel reducer. Let dry for an hour and shoot. That's what my paint vendor told me to do. It has held up very well on the armrests and all high wear surfaces. No wear through and no chips. I can't even scrape it off with my fingernail. Believe me, I tried really hard on a test peice first. I used two coats. My door armrests were original gold, the front center armrest was white, back center was black. All matched afterward. Did all the fiberglass on the console too. I'll probably have to do my door panels someday. I'll wait until I get Stuart's new door panel inserts first. |
