Clock

From the original Owner's Manual: Electric Clock (optional)
The clock is mounted near the front of the console. This unique mounting permits partial rotation for easy visibility. The clock has a self- regulating mechanism for automatically correct- ing time gain or lag when the hands are reset to the correct time. To reset the time: (1) If the clock runs fast, pull the reset knob out and move the hands in a "counterclockwise" direction to the correct time, then push knob in. (2) If it runs slow, pull the reset knob out and move the hands in a "clockwise" direction to the correct time, then push knob in. Repeat these procedures frequently for several days until the clock runs without loss or gain.

There is a difference in the face (on a '66 clock). The story I got was; on the 66 clock numbers the bottom of the "6" was slightly cut off because when you're looking down at the clock it was more readable than straight on. In 67 (which was not EL) they corrected this "problem" by making the face numbers smaller and a bit fatter. The hands are not EL so they are different shape as well.  (in the photo below: 66 on the left, 67 on the right)

Get with The Clock Doc to repair your clock, or to convert the clock to a Quartz Movement. The existing clocks have a re-wind mechanisim that can fail to wind the clock up all the way and when that happens the points won't open in the clock and it tries to wind the clock until the battery runs down. Go to a Quartz movement and the battery going dead will be a thing of the past. David Linquist; 1247 E. Penn Street; Whittier, California 90602 telephone # 562-698-4445 is good at clock work. He advertises in Hemmings.
