Greg Rose: I don't have any of the "shorter" clips I saw in someone's picture. Where do they go, will the regular clips work, and if not how many do I need.

Paul Quintin: I believe there's about 10 clips total per rear quarter. All of the clips go into the little depressions along the butt weld seam. The factory used some medium thickness foil under the clips, to keep them from digging into the bare metal under the paint. Has everyone used foil when putting the rear quarter trim back on? I was wondering if it would be possible to put the clips on, then apply some sort of coating to cover the barbs on the clip. I tried to find some muffler tape at the local shops, but everyone carries the fiberglass stuff these days.

S. Frazier: Buy it at Home depot. I did a test on my new paint as I was curious if the clips would slip over the foil without tearing the foil tape. I used a lubricant for bushings that my German friend Merick uses on his Mercedes repairs. The clips, after folding the one side sticky foil, worked perfect. I bought the one side sticky foil tape at the Home Depot.
