Jon: What is the easiest way to change out those old Charger emblems on the C-Pillars. What I have found is that the rear panel over the trunk divider (with 5 screws I think) needs to be removed. Then remove also the same type of piece, but this one is at the top of the rear window with a clip in the middle, also the chrome metal pieces need be removed around the rear interior lights, and the lense itself removed. Then I believe there is a screw holding the rear interior panel to another panel above each rear side window, take that out. But it is still hard to slip that rear interior panel (under the sides of the back window out), so what gives? I just ended up taking a socket wrench and laying in the rear of the car with one arm up behind that rear interior panel. Is there an easier way?

Robert:If your just trying to remove the script from the sail panel, they are not bolted or screwed in place. They are to be pried off with maybe a 1" putty knife. They are held in place with a grommet which goes into the three holes. The posts of the back of the script hold it in place. To pry it correct without breaking anything, there is one post about 1" from the left on the top half of the C. The second is at the bottom right of the C. The last one is on the top left side of the R. Pry at each one slowly and evenly, or the pot metal will break. Maybe put some liquid wrench or similar on those post areas to help loosen any rust or gunk which may hold it tighter. Hope this helps,

Paul: The 1" putty knife is a good idea. I used a screwdriver with a bunch of rags and paper towels around it. Most of the time the barrel clips which hold the prongs of the emblems in are rotted anyway. I would use the putty knife with a couple of rags around it so as to not scratch or dent the sail panel. There is no way to get to the back of the emblem easily. I have tried. When you put your new emblems in, Make sure you put the barrel clips or plastic clips on the emblem first and then push it into the car. If you set the clips in place in the car and then try to push it in, you may push the barrel clip right through the car.

Tom: When I restored my 66, I distinctly remember that removing that script was done by removing the sail panel and removing the nuts that held the script in place. I also made a note to be sure to install the script before installing the panel. Mine was definitely bolted in place.
